Okay, let's just say of everyone on the Seattle staff, you would expect the campus minister to be the most adept at using technology. After all, I work with the generation that invented dual core processors, Gigs of Ram, N-vidia graphics cards, Facebook and of course, blogging. Truth is, nothing could be further from the truth. I have a computer at home that is missing keys. That's right, one night Justus decided to see how many he could pop off before I got back from the bathroom. I have an HDTV that has no HD (as we have no cable right now). Drive by our house and you will understand why I feel more like Fred Flintstone than the UW Campus Minister.
Well this week, I decided to take on the opportunity to blogg. I'm excited because I have alot to share about. There was the Bible study with Jacob on Monday that encouraged my soul. The Discipleship time with Nate Bigbee that reminded me of what we are trying to build here in Seattle. There was the study with Brian, one of the most encouraging young men to come around since Steve "Barnabas" Drangsholt. There was the revelation of teaching my son that turning the other check means you have to stand your ground when being bullied and poked in the face with chopsticks wielded by 2 year olds with a mean streak.
Ahhh, so many revelations and so much to share with the world; yet, I can't seem to figure out how to get my blogg on the website (which brings us back to my first topic). I am humbled. I look at Scott's blogs and I'm jealous. Jealous because not only can't I get my bloggs onto the website, but lets be real, when they do make there.....would you rather read this, or something published by my awesome boss? Maybe it's better this way. If my blog actually made it online next to his, I might be exposed for more than just being a technical dolt (I threw that in in honor of my boss by the way, the word dolt).
This reminds me of the scripture in the Bible that talks about the different parts of the body and why we need them. I need Scott for his inspiration and his ability to communicate and empathise. And what i really need right now, is a technical whiz, to help me get these thoughts on line. It's 5:02 pm and I'm going into another study at the HUB. I pray one day, you might actually read this. Til then, I'll resign to post these things wherever I can and whenever I can in the the hopes that someday, somehow, someone might be edified by the things I write down and can't get on the website.
